Report: Hornets, Sacramento Kings have had Trade Discussions Involving Domantas Sabonis
Could Domantas Sabonis be the frontcourt piece Charlotte needs to take the next step?
The Charlotte Hornets have reportedly shown interest in Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis. According to The Athletic’s Sam Amick, the two teams have had discussions about a trade involving the three-time NBA All-Star.

Sabonis saw some of the best years of his career while he was in Sacramento with De’Aaron Fox and Head Coach Mike Brown. Both of whom are currently competing to be NBA Champions with the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks respectively.
We previously wrote an article about how the Hornets could look for big man help to further bolster the current frontcourt of Moussa Diabaté and Ryan Kalkbrenner.
Aday Mara from Michigan could be a candidate but if the Hornets believe they are in more of a ‘win now’ situation, Sabonis could be a more ideal target.
According to Amick the deal is not imminent and appears unlikely before the June 23 draft due to the Hornets unwillingness to depart with one of their first round picks.
Domantas Sabonis is a 3 time all-star, 2 time All-NBA 3rd team, and six-time NBA Player of the Week winner.
