In a surprising turn, the Charlotte Hornets are engaged in trade talks for LaMelo Ball, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
LaMelo Ball has been a staple in the Charlotte community since he was drafted to the Hornets in the 2020 NBA Draft with the 3rd overall pick.
According to Charania, Ball does want to be in Charlotte, but the Hornets are still listening to calls from multiple teams.
During the 2025-2026 season, the Charlotte Hornets were 3-7 last season without LaMelo Ball.
